The Moniker, an elevated restaurant and lounge at 1000 Washington Avenue — street level of Six Cord — opened June 19, 2025, on Juneteenth. That is 2025, not 2026. Cheryl Baehr’s St. Louis Magazine preview (June 5, 2025; the page also shows an August 31, 2025 stamp) had it slated for June 19. Emily Standlee’s Feast Magazine piece (July 2, 2025) said it debuted on Juneteenth.
Owners, per Baehr: Jordaryl “Jordy” Logan (Four Seasons, The Last Hotel) with Alex Oliver and Britteney Ofodile. The trio met at One Cardinal Way during the early pandemic — Logan ran the bar; Ofodile and Oliver were residents. The space sits in Six Cord, with assistance from Greater St. Louis, Inc. and SLDC’s Downtown Retail Incentives Program. Emerald green is tied to Logan’s mother, who died in 2022; a mural of her is in the lounge. Chef Mark Brown, formerly of the Four Seasons: salmon cakes, “dirty boards,” chicken ribs. Cocktails Baehr named: French 75 with kiwi; Cosmopolitan with honeydew; Lavender Lemon Drop; Manhattan riffs (mandarin; vanilla).
Nathan Rubbelke’s St. Louis Business Journal story of June 5, 2025 (paywalled; KSDK reprint) confirmed the June 19 date and described a 1,700-square-foot space, seating about 60, with a 16-seat bar, chef Mark Brown, and bar manager Rodney Gray. Credit Rubbelke / SLBJ for those figures.
“In St. Louis, we constantly hear that we don’t have anything like this. We deserve places like this, and no matter what is going on around us, we can create a space where people feel comfortable, happy, and excited to be there.”
— Britteney Ofodile, quoted by Cheryl Baehr, St. Louis Magazine, June 5, 2025
“He is a master at creating experiences and vibes. He creates community and a culture of connection and creativity; it’s just innate in who he is.”
— Britteney Ofodile, on Logan, St. Louis Magazine
“This is a place where grown people can come and unwind… You can stay for a quick bite and conversation, or you can make a night of it.”
— Britteney Ofodile, St. Louis Magazine
Standlee’s Feast piece, after opening, described an open kitchen with Logan at the bar. Drink sections: classics, inventions, and “Something Borrowed” (mentors Bob Mitchell, Meredith Berry). Chef Mark Brown’s plates named there: black-eyed pea bruschetta, cocktail shrimp, chicken ribs, salmon cakes. Then-hours: Thursday–Sunday 2:00 p.m.–11:30 p.m.
“There is a buzz, there is community here.”
— Jordaryl Logan, quoted by Emily Standlee, Feast Magazine, July 2, 2025
“I know we made the right decision being downtown, because this is what downtown needs and deserves: an elevated experience.”
— Jordaryl Logan, Feast Magazine
“The image, the colors … it all came together pretty naturally. But being in this space is surreal. I didn’t plan on putting my mom up there initially, but [her portrait] anchored everything. That’s my ‘why,’ you know? Hospitality isn’t just what I do; it’s who I am … absolutely because of my mom. So [The Moniker] is home for everybody that comes in. That’s why we do this, right? It’s a good time, but whatever weight you carry in, you’re not carrying out.”
— Jordaryl Logan, Feast Magazine
“There’s a greater goal here. I want to be a bar owner, and I live in hospitality, but somehow, this platform has to be used to make a difference.”
— Jordaryl Logan, Feast Magazine
The Moniker is already on Wash Ave. For hours, the kitchen, and a path to the official site, see our The Moniker listing.
