Freestyle Creative is open on Wash Ave, next door to the food hall

Freestyle Creative, a creative studio and art café at 1112 Washington Avenue — next door to Wash Ave Food Hall — announced on LinkedIn on August 14, 2025: “We are officially open for business! It’s been a long time coming, but we are so excited to bring creativity back to downtown St. Louis. Join us this weekend for Art Cafe.”

Their company about on LinkedIn describes “a creative studio and art café in downtown St. Louis built on one belief: connection fuels creativity, and creativity transforms communities.” The ecosystem they name: Art Café, open studio, artist-led workshops, exhibitions, events, and collaborations. On what an art café is, the same August 14 post said: “Well it’s like a restaurant, but instead of ordering food, you order art experiences!”

Hours printed in that August 14, 2025 post were Thursday 4–8 p.m.; Friday 4–8 p.m.; Saturday 1–8 p.m.; Sunday 1–7 p.m. Those hours are from that post only — they should not be treated as current without checking @freestylecreativestl.

St. Louis Magazine later carried an events listing (not a reported story) for I Am The Art at the same address: “Become the art at Freestyle Creative. Join Mack for an evening of community, connection, performance art and projections. With its opening on June 5th from 6-10pm, this immersive exhibit will remain on display through July 17th.” Location given: Freestyle Creative, 1112 Washington Ave. (That events page 404’d on one fetch on August 26, 2026; the listing was still indexed.)

A directory line on artinthearea.com says the space “Opened August 03, 2025,” which conflicts with the August 14 LinkedIn “officially open” post. This note does not pick a grand-opening date. LinkedIn is the first-party record that they were officially open as of mid-August 2025. No official website was found; Instagram and the LinkedIn company page are the public channels.
